The community football team includes players from both Hilltop
High and St. Josephs. It seeks to build positive attitudes,
an appreciation for an active life, and sportsmanship among interested
young people in Whitecourt. Having fun in the process is considered
an important part of making the lessons stick.
The Cats Football Alumni are helping out the current team
by pitching in for fundraising activities.
The
Cats football team has been in operation since 1986 and were Peace
Bowl finalists in 1988, 1996, 2000 and 2001, emerging as champions
twice, in 1988 and 2001. The Cats were also the provincial silver
medalists for 2000.
There are 11 teams in the Mighty Peace Football League that the
Cats compete in.
