January 25, 2005 - Whitecourt Town Council heard the recommendation from the Joint Issues Committee regarding the proposed Multi-Use Facility Project at the Town Council Meeting held Monday, January 24, 2005.....

.....Whitecourt Town Council agreed to contract Banister Research and Consulting Inc. to poll the community by conducting a telephone survey....

The Joint Issues Committee will proceed to work with Bannister Research and Consulting to develop the survey and bring back a draft survey for both Woodlands County Council and Whitecourt Town Council to review prior to implementation. It is expected that the survey and results will be available by mid-March.

The Town of Whitecourt will be advertising for one member at large to join the Regional Economic Development Board. The board will consist of two Councillors from Woodlands County, two Councillors from the Town of Whitecourt, one member from the Whitecourt & District Chamber of Commerce, a member of the public from Woodlands County and a member of the public from the Town of Whitecourt.

The Whitecourt & District Public Library has extended its hours of operation. The library will be open on Sundays from 12:00pm to 4:00pm starting February 6 to May 29, 2005. Hours of operation throughout the week have also been extended.
